I am a Wilder Family endowed professor and division chief of epilepsy at the University of Florida College of Medicine. I was recruited by UF Health to my current position in September 2017. Born and raised in India, I completed medical school at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherri. I was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University in England, where I earned a master's degree in applied mathematics and a research doctorate in mathematical biology. I received my clinical training in internal medicine by rotation in various hospitals in the British National Health Service, and completed a general neurology residency at the Institute of Neurological Sciences in Glasgow.
