Born and raised in northern Virginia, Dr. Griffin attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for his undergraduate studies. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine-Seton Hill Campus. Dr. Griffin completed his residency in pediatrics and served as the Chief Resident at Carilion Children’s Hospital, Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. During his time as a hospitalist, Dr. Griffin’s clinical interests expanded to include childhood obesity, chronic disease management, newborn nursery care and neonatal resuscitation.“I believe pediatrics means helping guide and protect young people through their formative years so they can become healthy and well-adjusted adults.”When not working, Dr. Griffin enjoys hunting and fishing, martial arts, hiking with his wife and dogs, playing video games and reading sci-fi and fantasy novels. Dr. Griffin as always felt a strong urge to serve his community, prior to his career in medicine he was a firefighter.
