Mehdi Tavakoli, MD, is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, and adult strabismus and oculoplastic. He completed his medical school and residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in oculoplastic in Iran, and he was a faculty in one of the top nation's hospitals before moving to the United States. At the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Tavakoli completed two years of research scholarship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery and two clinical fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, and neuro-ophthalmology.
