Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Like many clinicians, I was driven by a fascination with science combined with service to humanity, which was nurtured by family and teachers. Being able to help solve problems and contribute to care of patients is immensely satisfying and a privilege. Thus, it was the best natural fit to combine these aspects with a career in medicine. After graduating, I knew the heart was the organ I most wanted to study and recognized that I am both a 'thinker' and a 'doer'.
