Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: My mother was an Emergency Room nurse for 40 years, and I grew up knowing I wanted to do something in the medical field. I chose to pursue nursing after helping my sister to health after an unfortunate accident. While in nursing school, I instantly knew that cardiology was my area of interest. For the last 30 years, I have been caring for cardiac patients. The last 17 years have been specifically focused on heart failure patients and advanced heart failure patients. What I want my patients to know about me: My goal as a heart failure nurse practitioner is to advocate for my patients.
