Dr. Makkawi enjoys teaching and has worked as a clinical preceptor in affiliation with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Daemen College to provide comprehensive clinical educational experiences to both medical students and athletic training students.
He currently serves on the American College of Osteopathic Family Physician’s Federal Legislation and Advocacy committee where he advocates for many health and safety – related measures that impact family physicians nationwide and how they care for their patients.

Dr. Adam Makkawi is a board-certified Family Medicine physician. A native New Yorker, he earned his graduate medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency in Family Medicine at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital where he also served as Chief Resident.He specializes in preventive medicine, managing a wide spectrum of complex medical illnesses and sports injuries.
