I have had extensive research experience in the etiology, diagnosis and management of congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy. My specific areas of research include echocardiographic assessment of heart failure severity and hemodynamic treatment including percutaneous mitral valve interventions, thyroid and other hormonal abnormalities and therapies in heart failure patients, selection criteria for heart transplantation versus medical therapy, and optimal in-patient and outpatient management of severe heart failure.
