Having worked in critical care as a registered nurse for more than two decades, becoming an advanced practice provider seemed to be like the logical next step in advancing my career. I wanted to provide a more holistic patient centered care looking at the whole patient within the framework of their family and community. As a primary care provider, the principal focus is on preventive care and early recognition of illness or diseases, education and reducing the risk for complex chronic diseases, disabilities and mortality.
