David Esses, MD, is Vice Chair, Emergency Department and Professor, Emergency Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. He is also Interim Chair, Emergency Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. In 1981, Dr Esses received his Bachelor of Science, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the same institution in 1985. Dr Esses completed his residency training in internal medicine at Montefiore. Dr Esses’ research focuses on the treatment of acute pain in the emergency department setting and includes several trials comparing different intravenous pharmaceutical agents in the treatment of acute pain. He has shared his work through national conference presentations.
