Samer Azouz
Offering same-day appointments, Dr. Azouz specializes in the most current and least invasive techniques available while caring for individuals with cardiovascular disease. He is skilled at performing transcatheter aortic valve replacement, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, coronary cardiac therapeutic interventions, peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, nuclear cardiology, and transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography. Dr. Azouz earned his degree at the University of Aleppo Medical School in Aleppo, Syria. After completing his residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, he gained additional skills and expertise during his cardiovascular fellowship at Lutheran General Hospital, University of Chicago, in Park Ridge, Illinois. He also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Mid-America Heart Institute, University of Missouri at Kansas City. Prior to joining Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Dr. Azouz was medical director of Butler Cardiovascular Consultants and co-founder of the structural heart program and heart valve clinic at Butler Health System in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was also an attending physician at Allegheny General Hospital and was instrumental in developing the Butler cardiovascular program. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with specialized certification in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Endovascular Medicine, Dr. Azouz is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and Pennsylvania Medical Society as well as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
