Dr. Howard A. Fine was recently recruited to Weill Cornell to be the Founding Director of the Brain Tumor Center in the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center and Associate Director for the Translational Research of the Weill Cornell Brain Tumor Center. He is also appointed as the Chief of the Division of Neuro-Oncology in the Department of Neurology. Dr. Fine received his medical degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Fine founded and Directed the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Center for Neuro-Oncology at Harvard Medical School, and the Neuro-Oncology Branch, at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Fine most recently served as Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology and as Deputy Director of the New York University Cancer Center Dr. Fine has a 26 year history of clinical and research work exclusively devoted to patients with brain tumors. He has run a basic and translational science laboratory continuously for those 26 years and has been involved in well over 100 brain tumor clinical trials. Dr. Fine has authored over 200 scholarly articles, reviews and book chapters in subjects all devoted to neuro-oncology/ brain tumors. Dr. Fine welcomes patients with brain tumors who wished to seek his consultation, care, and/or clinical trials.
