Samuel J. Rheinhardt, MD, is a fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon and completed his fellowship at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Prior to that, he attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Indiana University Department of General Surgery.
Providing care to patients age 18 and older, he is a board-eligible general surgeon and does not practice one-size, fits-all medicine. He has special interests in Crohn’s disease, hemorrhoidal disease, anorectal disease, organ preservation treatment of early stage rectal cancer, endoscopic removal of colon and rectal polyps, colon and rectal cancer and minimally-invasive surgical techniques.
Before attending medical school, Dr. Rheinhardt worked in construction and a professional kitchen. He grew up in the country on a horse farm and considers himself an everyman.
