Dr. Anderson appears to be a competent surgeon. She isn’t as good with the rest, though. My surgery was delayed, and she was poor with updates. She did not check in with me or my partner afterwards to brief us on how the surgery went. That was appalling. She also needs a better way to inform patients of their diagnosis. I was told when I was sitting in a broiling hot, tiny room, with the dr and an APRN staring down at me. The tiny gown they gave me didn’t help. Her office promises a nurse navigator, but that was just one more person to track down—they really dropped the ball with me. She also didn’t make clear that my diagnosis and treatment could change after surgery. Lastly, she recommended a hormone treatment, despite the fact that I don’t have hormone positive cancer. For follow up visits, she has frequently cancelled at the last minute or not been available on the regular time frame so I have seen her pa or APRN. They are both pretty inexperienced. These follow up visits come at very emotionally crucial times like one year follow ups, etc., so I think it’s pretty shabby treatment to cancel an appointment so late that I can’t get in to see her and have to see a PA or APRN instead. Especially in the first two years of treatment.

She did my breast surgery and a little reconstruction I was very happy with her. When I was told I had some small spots of cancer in my lymph nodes she was extremely patient with me and took all the time I needed her to just sit with me to explain and to help me make decisions of my next step, Which is now chemo.
