Dr. Roskind is a board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physician and a Professor of Pediatrics (in Emergency Medicine) on the Educator Track at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She has more than 15 years of experience caring for acutely ill and injured children. Dr. Roskind is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Babies Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at NewYork- Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center. She currently practices in the Pediatric Emergency Department at the NewYork Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.Dr. Roskind has served as the Program Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program since 2012. Her primary academic interests are improving graduate medical education, mentoring future Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians, and teaching evidenced based practice. She completed a certificate program in Adult Learning and Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University and the Education Scholars Program through the Academic Pediatric Association. She has published in the area of trainee assessment, and holds national education leadership roles in the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Emergency Medicine. Locally, she is the Co-Chair of the Department’s Faculty Development and Mentorship Committee. In addition to education scholarship, Dr. Roskind served as the site primary investigator for an NIH grant evaluating the use of probiotics in acute gastroenteritis and has published extensively in this area.
