Dara Steinberg, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology jointly appointed in the departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry. She serves as the Psychosocial Director in the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation. Dr. Steinberg specializes in pediatric psychology, working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families, who have chronic and acute medical conditions, particularly oncological and hematological conditions. Dr. Steinberg uses evidenced-based treatment to address adjustment, adherence, and emotional and behavioral aspects of living with medical conditions. Her research interests focus on the interaction between physiological and psychological health and well-being.
Dr. Steinberg graduated magna cum laude with a BA, with honors in psychology, from Brown University and went on to earn her Ph.D in clinical psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. She completed her clinical psychology internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine.
