Apar Gupta, MD, MBA is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He specializes in the treatment of head and neck cancers, including oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, thyroid, salivary gland, sinonasal, and base of skull tumors. He collaborates closely with the multi-disciplinary teams at CUIMC to provide comprehensive cancer treatments with the least amount of side effects.Dr. Gupta earned his combined BA/MD through Boston University’s accelerated seven-year medical program and further completed his MBA in the dual MD/MBA program. He then completed residency in Radiation Oncology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, where he served as chief resident and was awarded with the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award. His research interests stem from his diverse background and focus on the value of cancer treatment for patients - delivering the most effective treatment with the least amount of side effects and the lowest cost.He serves on the American Society of Radiation Oncology’s Payer Relations Committee and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Oncology.In addition to his practice at CUIMC, Dr. Gupta also sees patients at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY, where he is able to bring NYP's clinical expertise to a more convenient setting for patients. His priority is patient care and trust and he looks forward to forming long-lasting relationships with patients that span from initial presentation to many years of survivorship.
