Allison Winik
Allison Winik, Ph.D., is an Instructor of Psychology (in Psychiatry) within the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University. She also serves as a licensed clinical psychologist at the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders Westchester (CUCARD Westchester).
Dr. Winik graduated summa cum laude with her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, where she majored in psychology. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed a predoctoral internship at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Dr. Winik also completed an APA-Accredited post-doctoral fellowship at Northwell Health—Zucker Hillside Hospital (formerly known as the North-Shore Long Island Jewish Health System), during which she treated children, adolescents, and young adults across outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospital settings.
Dr. Winik specializes in the cognitive behavioral treatment of child, adolescent, and young adult anxiety, habit, mood, and disruptive behavior disorders. She has particular expertise in treating generalized, separation, and social anxiety disorders, specific phobias, OCD, tics, and childhood externalizing disorders (AD/HD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder). She is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) by PCIT international and is trained in numerous evidence-based treatments, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (EX/RP), Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Kazdin’s Parent Management Training (KPMT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
