Rajesh K. Malik, MD, is division chief of vascular surgery at NewYork- Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and interim Associate Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is board-certified in both general and vascular surgery.
His practice includes the full spectrum of vascular disease, with a particular interest in treating complex aortic diseases such as aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) through the use of endovascular and open surgical techniques. He is also expert at treating venous conditions like deep vein thrombosis and other deep venous pathologies.
Dr. Malik earned his medical degree at New York Medical College, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his surgery residency at NYU Langone Medical Center and a vascular surgery fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Malik served on the staff of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and was appointed Associate Professor of Surgery and Program Director for Vascular Surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC.
Dr. Malik has participated in 14 clinical trials. He is currently involved in research analyzing clinical data for patients with aortic and peripheral arterial disease and understanding their outcomes based on specific types of presentations. He has authored numerous articles and book chapters and has presented his work at more than 20 regional and national medical conferences. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a founding member of the South Asian American Vascular Society, Dr. Malik is also a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the New York Society for Vascular Surgery.
