Dr. Kunkel earned her medical degree at Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She then attended the Johns Hopkins Hospital where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine. She went on to complete fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, and Structural Interventions at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as Complex, High-Risk Indicated Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Advanced Hemodynamic Care at Henry Ford Hospital. She has a Masters in Medical Education which she earned at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, and Echocardiography. Dr. Kunkel specializes in coronary artery disease, stable ischemic heart disease, complex percutaneous coronary intervention, chronic total occlusions, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support. She is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans. Her special interests include spending time hiking with her rescue dog, exploring new food, as well as cooking and trying new restaurants.
