Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I have always been fascinated by biology, particularly the human body and the way the hundreds of parts of each cell, then hundreds of cells in each tissue, the many tissues in each organ, and then all the organs work together to make a living, thinking being. As fascinated as I was, I found I was happiest doing things that truly helped others around me. Medicine seemed the perfect way to join my academic fascination with this desire and make it into a career. What I want my patients to know about me: That a visit to me is more about fun and less about being scary. My goal is to get a smile to make up for all the boring talking I did with their parents.
