Michael Sands, MD, M.P.H. & T.M., FIDSA, is a University of Florida professor of medicine and a board-certified infectious disease and medical microbiology physician at UF Health in Jacksonville. He also holds a Certificate of Knowledge in Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He also serves as chief of the UF Division of Infectious Disease - Jacksonville, as well as associate program director for the Infectious Disease Fellowship. Dr Sands received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Mary's Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, California.
