Dr. Brian Holland joined the University of Louisville Division of Pediatric Cardiology in 2010. Prior to coming to Louisville, Dr. Holland served as a pediatrician in the US Army. Dr. Holland served in Hawaii and Germany and deployed to Afghanistan in 2005-06 with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, the hospital, the fetal echo lab, and in travel clinics throughout Kentucky, Dr. Holland is dedicated to ensuring the best possible treatment is available for patients with congenital heart disease who receive care at the University of Louisville and Norton Children’s Hospital. Dr. Holland is a site leader for both the National Pediatric Cardiology – Quality Improvement Collaborative (NPC-QIC), a group of children’s hospitals across the US working to improve care for infants with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), and the Congenital Heart Surgeon’s Society (CHSS) Technical Assessment Project, a national project to continuously improve all of the detailed components of open heart surgery.
