After earning his bachelor's degree in biology at Morehouse College in Atlanta, he received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Chicago, and received a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University, also in Chicago.Dr. Porter has been involved in numerous local and national committees and organizations.
