Aditi Mathur, MD is a member of Summit Health's Pulmonology team. Dr. Mathur specializes in pulmonary disorders with broad expertise in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), respiratory infections and interstitial lung disease (ILD), among other diseases. Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Mathur was part of the interstitial lung disease team at the Mount Sinai – National Jewish Respiratory Institute and Assistant Professor in Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.
As part of her pulmonary fellowship, Dr. Mathur focused her research and specialization on inflammatory and fibrotic lung disorders. This focus strengthened her capacity to diagnose and treat complex lung disorders, which often require advanced therapies such as antifibrotics and immunosuppressive treatment.
Dr. Mathur has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) (2013, NIH), the Cullman Family Award for Excellence in Physician Communication (2017, Mount Sinai Hospital), and the Pulmonary Attending Excellence in Teaching Award (2019, Mount Sinai Hospital). She has trained and mentored several residents and fellows over the past decade and authored several peer reviewed publications in the field of pulmonary medicine.
Dr. Mathur is a proponent of shared decision-making with her patients. She prioritizes understanding every patient’s concerns and answering all questions along the way, as well as ensuring one’s lifestyle is factored into treatment decisions. She aims to communicate clearly and be easily accessible to her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Mathur enjoys visiting local restaurants, gardening, exploring Eagle Rock Reservation, and spending time with family.
