I received my medical degree from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India. Following which I moved to the US and completed my general surgical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers) in Newark, NJ.
During my residency I completed a National Institute of Health (NIH) sponsored research fellowship studying the effects of trauma, bleeding and shock on various organ systems throughout the body.
I then pursued my fellowship training in vascular and endovascular surgery at New York University Medical Center, one of the leading academic centers of vascular training.
