He then returned to his hometown of Houston to complete his three-year residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Dallas, Texas at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center before relocating to Los Angeles.
