Dr. Peter Thadani is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements, including revision surgery, and treatment for other hip and knee problems. He is an expert in anterior approach hip replacements, which spare posterior muscles from being severed, decrease post-operative pain and speed recovery. At the beginning of his college studies he had intended to become an engineer but then a biomedical engineering course captured his attention and led him to orthopedic surgery. Today he utilizes computer modeling of the knee to guide him in properly positioning the implant when performing knee replacement surgery. When appropriate, Dr. Thadani offers knee arthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgical technique.
He seeks to restore pain free function of the joints and allow his patients to participate in the activities they enjoy. He educates patients about their condition and treatment options in order for them to be involved in and comfortable with decisions about their care.
Dr. Thadani keeps well informed through his work teaching fellow surgeons about surgical techniques in the area of anterior approach hip replacement. He also performs clinical research evaluating the outcomes of patients who have undergone these procedures.
