Amanda George, APN is part of Summit Health’s Internal Medicine team. Ms. George works in internal medicine as an adult/gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ms. George served for 13 years as a critical care nurse in the medical/surgical/neurological intensive care unit (ICU) as well as the post anesthesia care unit (PACU). Prior to joining Summit Health, she worked as a vascular surgery nurse practitioner and gained inpatient and outpatient experience in a wide array of vascular conditions.
Having spent most of her career seeing patients at their sickest, Ms. George is now ready to focus on preventative medicine in the primary care setting to avoid hospitalization. “I feel that chronic and acute conditions that are managed on an outpatient basis with attentive, quality medical care will maintain adequate health status and avoid exacerbations,” says Ms. George. “While my former experience was in a hospital setting, I look forward to forming relationships and helping primary care patients achieve optimal physical and mental health and their best quality of life,” says Ms. George.
When not caring for patients, Ms. George enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with her two daughters, husband, and Goldendoodle.
