Elkhart General Hospital Center for Joint Replacement
The Elkhart General Hospital Center for Joint Replacement is dedicated to caring for patients who have undergone hip and knee replacements. The environment on the unit maximizes patient recovery by embracing a team approach to patient care and education. Our team also works with a dedicated rehabilitation team, and keeps the patient’s family involved and informed every step of the way.
The Joint Replacement Center provides personalized patient-doctor-staff interaction before, during, and after your procedure. Patients come in for joint replacement procedures on Monday or Tuesday, and then heal in a specialized recovery program on the Total Joint Unit until Thursday or Friday.
This specialized recovery program offers group exercise options, along with physical and occupational therapy from a proven rehabilitation team. We create a community of experts and individuals who can enjoy attentive care plus the shared experiences of recovering together. All along, we encourage family and other support people to participate as you heal to enhance your stay and speed your recovery. Whether it's during a group physical therapy class or a shared luncheon, others who understand the process can offer encouraging words along the way. This approach allows patients to form a community with each other as they work towards a common goal.
Elkhart General Hospital’s dedication to patient education, teamwork, family involvement, and relationship building between medical staff and patients makes it the ideal choice for your surgical and recovery experience.
