Vagish Hemmige, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Director, Medical Student Research and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Hemmige’s clinical focus encompasses HIV primary care and specialization in preventing and treating infections in transplant recipients. He has a particular interest in helping people living with HIV with advanced kidney, liver, heart or lung disease navigate the process for transplantation. In 2002, Dr Hemmige graduated from Harvard University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in physics. He then attended New York University School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2006.
