She has also participated in a physiological study evaluating the effects of vitamin D on an individual’s metabolism. Additionally, Dr. Batacchi is author or co-author of abstracts and has published articles in scientific journals.
Dr. Batacchi is a recipient of a 2016 Endocrine Society Outstanding Abstract Award. She is a member the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society, and the International Society of Clinical Densitometrists.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Batacchi enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, spending time with her husband and two children, and connecting with family and friends.
Zona Batacchi
Zona Batacchi, MD is a member of Summit Health's Endocrinology team. Dr. Batacchi practices general endocrinology, with a special interest in thyroid, diabetes, adrenal, pituitary and parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. She is trained to perform fine needle aspiration biopsy of thyroid nodules, and is certified in bone density interpretation. Dr. Batacchi keeps open communication with each of her patients and takes ample time to educate them about their conditions, answer questions and discuss various treatment options. “My patients should feel knowledgeable and empowered to make the best decisions about their health.” Dr. Batacchi keeps each patient’s health goals and wellness in mind when caring for them in the interest of creating personalized treatment plans.
