A fellowship trained, board certified Thoracic Surgeon, Subroto Paul, MD has joined Northwell Health as Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Paul specializes in the treatment of both benign and malignant lung and esophageal disease. Dr. Paul uses advanced minimally invasive robotic techniques whose precision allows patients to recover faster. As a surgeon that embraces the multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, he strives to carefully explain all diagnostic and therapeutic options available. Dr. Paul's approach encourages patients to become involved in their own care to ensure they receive the most advanced care possible. He partners collaboratively with other members of the care team to ensure that patients receive the most comprehensive care possible. Both in and out of the operating room, no detail is left unturned to care for his patients. Dr. Paul is committed to bringing compassionate care and healthcare excellence to his patients. Dr. Paul received his undergraduate education from Yale University. He then earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed both his General Surgery residency and Thoracic Surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. He has also completed a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. Dr. Paul s research interests include improving health care delivery and outcomes through the use of technology. He has been the principal investigator of several clinical trials as well as the recipient of grants for his research. Dr. Paul has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in thoracic surgery. Dr. Paul has been rated as one of New York Magazine's Best Doctors and is a member of various prestigious medical societies including the American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and American Association for Thoracic Surgeons.
