About
Prior to joining Summit Medical Group’s Ophthalmology team, Dr. Shah worked as an Attending Ophthalmologist and Medical Retina Specialist at Ophthalmic Surgeons of Greater Bridgeport in Fairfield, CT.
She attended Barnard College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with distinguished honors in neuroscience and high recognition on her senior thesis. She continued on to graduate with honors in both service and research from Weill Cornell Medical College.
After completing an ophthalmology residency at UMDNJ-Rutgers Ophthalmology, Dr. Shah had the pleasure of teaching ophthalmology residents, while working as a Clinical Instructor/Attending Ophthalmologist at New York University. Following her teaching experience, she pursued a medical retina fellowship at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital working proudly under the world renowned Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi and Dr. K. Bailey Freund.
Dr. Shah is an accomplished researcher in her field, authoring several publications in various peer reviewed scientific journals. She has also spoken at many prestigious ophthalmology conferences and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
When Dr. Shah is not caring for patients, she enjoys ballet dancing and cycling. She and her husband are the proud parents of two sons.

Vinnie P. Kathpalia Shah, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training and expertise in diseases of the retina.
