April Bickoff
April D. Bickoff, PsyD, specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders, depression, and posttraumatic stress. Dr. Bickoff treats patients with behavior disorders, attention deficit, low self-esteem, family conflicts, emotion regulation disorders, and grief. She has expertise in child and adolescent psychotherapy, behavior management, parent training, and psychological assessment.
Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Bickoff was a clinical psychologist with the Trinitas Regional Medical Center Child and Adolescent Outpatient Unit in Elizabeth, New Jersey. While she was at Trinitas, Dr. Bickoff supervised interns and led a seminar in group supervision. She has been an intern at MercyFirst, a residential treatment center in Syosset, New York, where she worked with adolescent girls. She also has had positions with the Juvenile Court Medical Services, Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Child and Family Therapy Clinic, Loyola Clinical Centers, and Kennedy Krieger Institute Department of Developmental Cognitive Neurology, all located in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Bickoff also has been a teaching assistant for graduate students learning counseling skills at Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Bickoff is a member of the New Jersey Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, and New Jersey Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists.
When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Bickoff enjoys spending time with her family, going to the theater, painting, interior design, watching movies, traveling, and reading.
