Patricia Ann Shi, MD, MS, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Professor, Hematology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Shi specializes in transfusion medicine, with a particular focus on apheresis, and in benign hematology, especially the treatment of sickle cell disease. After earning her Doctor of Medicine at Duke University in 1993, Dr Shi completed her internal medicine residency at Duke University Hospital in 1997. She then completed a transfusion medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1998, followed by a hematology fellowship at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health in 2000.
