Dr. Chen specializes in liver disease, cirrhosis, and other digestive conditions. She provides coordinated medical care throughout the liver transplant process. She treats each patient individually, monitoring their disease progression before transplant, and helping them to regain their health afterward.
She is particularly interested in research around sarcopenia, the muscle loss that occurs as liver disease impacts the patient’s overall physiology.
Dr. Chen received a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed a residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh. She gained further training through a fellowship in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology, also at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
