Dr. Evans is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and orthopaedic traumatologist. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and earned his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dr. Evans earned his fellowship certification in orthopaedic traumatology in the Orthopaedic Traumatology Advanced Clinical Experience program at Harborview Medical Center / University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Prior to coming to the Hughston Clinic, Dr. Evans served as assistant professor and orthopaedic trauma fellowship director at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and most recently served as assistant professor and fellowship director of orthopaedic trauma at the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Evans is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopedic Trauma Association, and other international and regional organizations. He serves as teaching faculty for AO North America, and he is an active member of the AAOS Committee on Trauma. Dr. Evans has published extensively—peer-reviewed articles in major orthopaedic journals, book chapters, and his research has been presented at national meetings. His clinical and research interests include pelvic and acetabular fractures and complex lower extremity injuries. He plans to continue his research interests through the Hughston Foundation, Inc.
