Dr. Carter Davis is the current interim section head of Malignant Hematology and Cellular Therapy at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After medical school, he completed residency and fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Davis is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. His clinical interests are in the treatment of leukemias and lymphomas, and he performs cellular therapy procedures, including: autologous stem cell transplant, allogeneic stem cell transplant and CAR T-cell therapy.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Davis leads malignant hematology research at Ochsner and is a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials. He also leads educational initiatives with Ochsner's medical students and is an associate program director of the Ochsner hematology-oncology fellowship program. He has been at Ochsner since 2017.
