Dr Michael T Jaklitsch, a thoracic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is a professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1986 and pursued further training with a research fellowship in cardiology at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, followed by completion of a general surgery residency at the University of Alabama Hospital in 1993. His professional journey includes a thoracic oncology clinical research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 1995, as well as a fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the University of Minnesota completed in 1997.
