Dr. Dhruvakumar is the Director of Electrophysiology for Stamford Hospital and joined The Heart Physicians, now Stamford Health Medical Group, in February 2013. She is fellowship-trained in electrophysiology with expertise in device implantation and cardiac ablations. She also has advanced training in complex ablations including atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contractions. Dr. Dhruvakumar received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with honors from Brown University. She then attended University of Massachusetts Medical College and completed an internship and residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She then went on to complete a cardiology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and her electrophysiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Stamford, she was Director of Electrophysiology and Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey — The University Hospital. Her innovations includes the design of an advanced 3-D mapping and imaging system in Stamford Hospital’s Electrophysiology lab that includes a state-of-the-art biplane procedure room with advanced analysis and recording equipment.
