Jessica Kimmel, MD is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude. She then attended medical school at New York University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine, during which she was awarded the James R. Webster Jr. Award for superior clinical and humanitarian skills. She then completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Kimmel practices general gastroenterology, with a focus on colon cancer screening, reflux disease, celiac disease, liver disease, with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. She is an attending physician at NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn, where she works with medical students, residents, and fellows. Her research has been presented at several national conferences and has been published in peer-reviewed journals on such topics as inflammatory bowel disease, motility, and medical student education.
She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, New York Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American Gastroenterological Association.
