Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: My desire to help people and make a difference in their lives started my pursuit of a career in nursing. My first nursing degree was from Penn State Mont Alto in 1997. I completed my BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2012 and completed my MSN, FNP degree from Widener University in 2018. While I have a family history of diabetes mellitus Type 2, having my own child diagnosed with DM Type 1 at 10 years old started my desire to help those who have been diagnosed with DM2 and DM1.
