Dr. Pedersen is a clinical health psychologist who cares for individuals and their families, as inpatients and outpatients, in coordination with their other medical providers. She treats a broad array of behavioral health challenges, including adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma-related disorders primarily among individuals who are dealing with other medical conditions.
She also provides general psychological evaluations, psychotherapy, psychodiagnostic assessments, neurocognitive screens, capacity evaluations, and presurgical psychological evaluations.
Dr. Pedersen earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia in Columbia, Missouri. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship in advanced clinical and health psychology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers, and the American Psychosocial Oncology Society.
