Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
Gastroenterology is the most interesting and exciting of all the specialties in medicine! I especially enjoy thinking about and applying the newest and best ways to treat serious and complex digestive diseases. I also love working with my hands to successfully perform very technical and advanced endoscopic procedures.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I enjoy managing all diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas and liver/gallbladder. I am especially interested in safely and successfully removing colon polyps and preventing colon cancer with colonoscopy.
Where did you study?
Undergrad, Medical School and Residency: University of Alberta, Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy: McGill University.
What certifications do you hold?
Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy traveling, watching movies and playing sports. We especially enjoy spending time together to create precious memories.
Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?
I am a recipient of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) scholarship in Advanced Endoscopic Training. I have authored many papers, articles and chapters in several leading medical journals relating to the field of Gastroenterology. Finally, I have been voted by my colleagues and honored by D Magazine for the past many years as one of the best doctors in Gastroenterology in Dallas.
