I chose the nursing field because I wanted a profession that was rooted in caring and serving. I chose to become a nurse practitioner because I wanted to be the best clinician possible and advance my skills and knowledge of patient care. Family medicine allows me the ability to provide complete holistic care for individuals. Diabetes management is an area that has grown in interest for me. It is an illness that can impact an individual’s health in many ways. It is rewarding to make progress with clients in preventing or managing diabetes. My background is in behavioral health, so I am also comfortable in managing non-complicated mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
