Like other engineers and those who spent too much time behind a computer, I ignored my posture longer than I should have and eventually got myself into a situation where my neck and back were killing me!
It was to the point where the muscles in my neck felt like tight rubber bands, radiating pain from my migraines on my forehead to sharp knives running into my shoulder! Yikes!
Trying dry needling, physical therapy, and various other "recommended" options, I came to the conclusion I need to try something different that was available on the fly, and did not require appointments weeks in advance.
Living near Uptown and Five Points, there are not a lot of walk in chiropractors near me, so I was blessed to find Back In A Flash when I did.
Luckily Back In A Flash accepts walk in appointments for chiropractic adjustments, as well as walk in massage therapy appointments based on availability if you are lucky you can even snag a CBD massage therapy session if they aren't booked!
Thus, on my way to the Fluid Coffee Bar one day, I was having a killer neck spasm, and decided you know what I am just going to get a massage since Back In A Flash was offering a new patient special of $50 for a 60 minute massage and $29 chiropractic adjustment.
Walking in, I was greeted by the best Denver chiropractor, Dr. John who immediately, noticed the neck pain discomfort I was in, and told me first off "Man you need to relax, you are tight throughout your mid back and neck."
During the chiropractic adjustment consult, he explained to me the importance of chiropractic adjustments, and making sure "the power is on" in our bodies, as misalignments severely impact our neural pathways.
After talking with Dr. John, he also let me know that Back In A Flash offers float tank therapy in their sensory deprivation tank, and offer trigger point massages, which he thought might address some of the knots in my neck and pack.
To my surprise, Dr. John let me know that the float tank was currently available, and that if I could try it free of charge to see if that might help my neck. After coming to the conclusion, I probably did need to relax and take a step away from my computer and phone, I decided to try the Back In A Flash wellness playbook of float tank therapy, a trigger point massage, and a chiropractic adjustment, all for $99!
I had never floated before, and was surprised how the epsom salts, and the actual act of "floating" could help your muscle relax in that capacity, and tame some of the inflammation.
Next, I had a trigger point massage with Marilyn, who did a consult with me prior to starting, and confirmed that my neck muscles were extremely tight, commonly seen as a result of spending too much time on the computer.
Marilyn did a great asking me what pressure I was comfortable with, and teaching me how to stretch out certain muscles to relieve the migraines and shoulder pain I had been experiencing.
During the massage, I liked that Marilyn customized the massage to what I was looking for help with, and made sure to target the knots in my neck that were giving me issues.
Next, I got a chiropractic adjustment with Dr. John. I was very hesitant at first, as I felt the adjustment might do more harm than good.
Dr. John did a great job of walking me through the adjustments, and that while there might be some discomfort, I should have some relief within 24-48 hours.
It sounded like fireworks on the 4th of July when he adjusted my midback, and neck.
I instantly felt relief, like the stars had been realigned, and my neck could actually pivot again.
2 months later, I am a regular at Back In A Flash, and have boughten packages for the chiropractic adjustments, massages, and float tank therapy.
Every week, I do the trifecta of chiropractic, massage, and floating, and have never felt better! I have found that regular adjustments and massage have really helped me to develop better posture, and overall feel significantly healthier overall.
