River Point Family Acupuncture was founded by Dr. Barbara Wasson in 2015. Dr. Wasson attended Northwestern Health Sciences University after undergrad at University of Minnesota-Duluth with B.S. in biology and completed her Masters of Acupuncture in 2013. Along with her classroom education she completed 690 hours as an intern in various clinics including Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN where she had the opportunity to treat post-surgical pain to lessen the use of opioids after surgeries. Dr. Wasson has also received specialized training in stroke and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, women’s health, and pediatrics at the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin and Tianjin University for Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. To better serve her community, Dr. Wasson continued her education and received her doctorate in 2017 from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA and is now a Doctor of Acupuncture.
