After completing his undergraduate studies in Physics at Arizona State University, Dr. Vonk graduated with honors, with a focus in Medical Physics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Vonk completed a Transitional internship at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He completed residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Vonk's primary focus is to compassionately deliver evidence based care that is patient centered. He has a particular interest in the implementation of advancing radiation technologies including intensity modulation, stereotactic ablative therapy, and functional imaging for target delineation.
