Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I knew I wanted to pursue a career in health care since I was a candy striper volunteer at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, in Towson, MD, at the age of 14. While at GBMC, I enjoyed helping people, providing comfort and assisting the nursing staff, which has carried over into my career today. What I want my patients to know about me: I have been a nurse and now a nurse practitioner at WellSpan York Hospital for 30 years. I started my career at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the surgical step-down unit before moving to Columbia, MD, where I worked at Howard County General Hospital in the coronary care unit. I have been married to my husband for 35 years.
