Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I chose midwifery and women's health as a profession due to my passion for families, birth and autonomy for women in their health care. As a midwife, I am able to partner in a woman's care throughout her lifespan. What I want my patients to know about me: 1) I am a listener: During a patient encounter, what they have to say is important to me. 2) I am partner in healthcare: I work together with patients in developing their own individualized plan of care and healthcare management.
